There are three floating home moorages located within this section of the Willamette River, with two positioned in Southeast Portland and one located across the river in Southwest Portland with direct access to downtown SW Portland.

All three of these moorages are slip-owned communities by way of certificate ownership and/or ownership interests within the governing entity or corporation. Turnover within these communities is generally low, further contributing to the limited supply associated with these locations.

The two east side moorages are located within the boundaries of the Sellwood-Moreland neighborhood, a long established and highly regarded close-in Southeast Portland community known for its strong restaurant and foodie scene, walkability, antique shops, boutique retail stores, and distinct neighborhood identity. The area maintains a strong sense of community and has historically demonstrated resistance toward higher density and large-scale new development, helping preserve the established neighborhood character.

The Southwest Portland moorage represents the only floating home moorage located along the west side of the Willamette River and offers direct access into downtown Southwest Portland. This location tends to appeal strongly to business professionals and those working within the downtown core due to its close proximity and commuting convenience.

Both the Southeast and Southwest Portland moorages benefit from nearby bike paths immediately adjacent to the communities, appealing to both commuters and recreational cycling enthusiasts. The Southeast Portland moorages are also considered highly walkable, with the Sellwood district located just east of the riverfront communities.

Due to their scarcity, central location, strong surrounding neighborhoods, and low turnover rates, the SE and SW Portland floating home moorages often command some of the highest pricing within the floating home market when comparing similar properties among other slip-owned communities throughout the region.
